  • Neapolitans aren't hesitant about expressing their emotions, whether through impromptu arias in cafés or family disputes in the streets.
  • The city of Naples is built around the lovely Bay of Naples and lies in the shadow of Mount Vesuvius, which may help to explain why people there have such carefree and open-minded views toward life.
  • Naples provides every visitor with a rich and genuinely Italian travel experience while not being as polished as other tourist hotspots.

Best Months to Visit Naples: Seasonal Guide for Travellers

destination - Seasons to travel
  • Naples is best visited between mid-March and early June when the weather is dry and pleasant and neither too hot nor too chilly.
  • Additionally, since it is off-peak, there are fewer tourists, touring is enjoyable, and excellent rates on transportation and lodging may be found.
  • Naples' spring season is the most fantastic time to go sightseeing there. The most precipitation is recorded in October and November, with the best weather typically occurring between mid-March and early June.
  • Pompeii, one of Italy's most well-known attractions, is a popular choice for travellers to Naples.
  • The best time to see Pompeii, only 25 minutes from the city, is between November and April (except around the Christmas holidays between mid-December and early January), when the ancient city's winding streets are less crowded with tour buses carrying tourists.
  • The best seasons for shopping in Italy are the winter and summer sales, historically held in Naples from January 5 through February and once again in July and August.

Why Naples Is Worth a Visit: Here Are the Best Places You Must See

destination - Seasons to travel

Naples National Archaeological Museum

  • This is one of Naples' top attractions and is the ideal location to exhibit artwork and relics retrieved from the Mount Vesuvius explosion in 79 A.D.
  • Everyday items like store signs and cookware can be found among the bronze statues, frescoes, and mosaics that have been exhumed from the buried ruins.
  • The Alexander Mosaic, originally from Pompeii's House of the Faun and dates to around 100 BC, is the museum's most well-known piece of art.
  • It shows a conflict between Darius III of Persia and Alexander the Great's army. Relics discovered at prehistoric sites in and around Naples are among the additional exhibitions.
  • The enormous single antique sculpture, the Farnese Bull, is also housed in the museum.
destination - Seasons to travel

Spaccanapoli

  • Spaccanapoli, a lengthy, winding boulevard that cuts through Naples' ancient district, introduces tourists to the city's sites and attractions.
  • Since the beginning of the Greek colony in the area in the sixth century, the street of many names has been in the exact location.
  • The area is a dense mix of mediaeval cathedrals, bustling piazzas, outdoor cafés, and one-of-a-kind stores, representing 27 centuries of history.
  • Additionally, it is inhabited by locals whose exuberant lifestyles frequently spill onto the streets, giving tourists a view of what it means to be a Neapolitan.
destination - Seasons to travel

Castel dell’Ovo

  • The "Castle of the Egg," the oldest castle in Naples, gets its name from the poet Virgil, who is credited with burying an egg beneath the fortress's foundation.
  • According to folklore, the city will be shielded from tragedy as long as the egg is intact.
  • The 12th-century castle, perched on a point jutting into the sea, is worth a visit for the breathtaking views it offers from its ramparts.
  • The Ethno-Prehistory Museum, which houses relics from the oldest periods of Naples history, is also located inside the castle. Both the castle and the museum are free to enter.

L'Antica Pizzeria Da Michele

  • Before Julia Roberts was pictured chowing down on a slice of pizza in the motion picture "Eat, Pray, Love," this restaurant in the ancient city centre was well-known.
  • Da Michele, which has been in operation for over a century, is known for producing the best pizza in Italy.
  • Locals and visitors alike wait in line every day to try one of the restaurant's two pizza options: marinara, made with tomato and seasonings, or Margherita, which also includes a layer of creamy mozzarella.
  • Both versions are baked in a wood-burning oven until the edges of the delicate crust are crisply charred.
destination - Seasons to travel

Catacombs of San Gennaro

  • The Catacombs of San Gennaro are three distinct graves that have merged over time.
  • They were dedicated to Gennaro in the fifth century when the saint's remains were interred.
  • The catacomb's lowest level contains tombs from the second century.
  • In contrast to other ancient underground graveyards, the catacombs have wide corridors with tombs ranging from burial chambers for the wealthy to wall niches and floor graves for the less fortunate.
  • Saints and families are shown in the frescoes. In an early photograph of San Gennaro, Mount Vesuvius can be seen in the distance.

  • After Milan and Rome, Naples is the second-largest city in Italy and the economic hub of the south.
  • Wine production, textiles, and food processing are examples of traditional industries. Electronics manufacturing, shipbuilding, and petroleum refineries are among the more recent businesses.
  • With a contract that has been extended through 2021, Apple opened a new Developer Academy at the University of San Giovanni a Teduccio.
  • One of the apps they showed, called Lyra, enables people with hearing loss to recognise noises by converting them into visual signals.
  • There has been a decline in industrial sector employment in recent decades, and the unemployment rate is significant (11 per cent in 2017).
  • However, a new central business area, created by Japanese architect Kenzo Tange and finished in 1995, boosted the city's economy.
  • The centre revitalises a run-down area and is one of the most significant city construction projects in recent memory. It's a beautiful region with the facilities required for business conventions, glass towers and well-kept boulevards.
  • With the hotel industry accounting for 3.7% of Naples' GDP, tourism is currently one of the city's primary economic sectors.
  • Naples was one of the most visited in the south in 2017, receiving almost 3.7 million visitors. This is made possible by the city's numerous cultural attractions and proximity to other popular tourist destinations, including Mount Vesuvius, Pompeii, and Capri.

Fried Pizza

#FOOD

  • This novelty cuisine was my favourite among all the foods we tried. It was unlike anything I had ever experienced.
  • Imagine the freshest, tastiest fried dough you've ever tasted, loaded with rich ricotta cheese, some meat, black pepper, and smoked provolone.
  • At the renowned Antica Pizza Fritta da Zia Esterina Sorbillo, one of the greatest in the city, we had a slice that was well worth the wait (and the calories!).
destination - Seasons to travel

Mozzarella di Bufala

#FOOD

  • The tasty buffalo mozzarella gives the pizza its unique and excellent flavour.
  • The buffalo mozzarella is a typical Neapolitan product recognised as a DOP and DOC product (which indicates controlled origins and protection).
  • Make sure to ask for the Mozzarella di Bufala when buying pizza because it is made using milk from nearby buffalo ranches.
  • You can taste the difference between Mozzarella di Bufala and regular cheese.
  • Remember to eat it with a fork and without additional toppings if you want to experience the authentic flavour of the mozzarella. It tastes good.
destination - Seasons to travel

Friarielli

#FOOD

  • Friarielli should be on your list of local goods to taste while visiting Naples.
  • Friarielli often referred to as Broccoletti or Rabe Broccoli, is a vegetable fried in a standard skillet with olive oil, garlic, and pepperoncini. Even friarielli have calories because of how much oil is used for cooking them, as with many other items in Naples.
  • Salsiccia & Friarielli, which combines sausages with friarielli, is a typical dish.
  • You can request this kind of pizza combination, and believe us when we say it's the greatest in Naples.

Tin City

#FASHON

  • You can locate our distinctive Tin City in The Old Marine Marketplace off Fifth Avenue heading east.
  • This indoor maze of over 40 quirky shops and restaurants still feels like its maritime past, thanks to its planked walkways.
  • Tin City's two well-liked eateries, Riverwalk Fish & Ale House and Pinchers Crab Shack, with views over Naples Bay's docks, enthusiastically take use of the local seafood.
  • The Olde Naples Seaport, a mini-mall of arts and souvenirs, and Dockside Boardwalk, a collection of charming waterside stores packed full of one-of-a-kind items, artwork, and clothing, are both in the same neighbourhood.
  • Another dockside shopping paradise with unique businesses and informal restaurants in Crayton Cove.

Bayfront

#FASHION

  • The Bayfront - Shops, Galleries, and Restaurants are located at the base of Fifth Avenue South, on the Gordon River, and Naples Bay.
  • The Bayfront's vibrant European architecture in Old Naples is a striking and enduring monument.
  • Shoppers can quickly obtain whatever they need while strolling along brick-lined streets.
  • The rare treasures elevate the Bayfront experience in the shops and the outstanding cuisine of the restaurants.
  • At Bayfront, there are constantly fresh opportunities to make the day better. Their shops include top-notch goods made by renowned designers and craftspeople.
  • In their kitchens, highly skilled culinary staff are used. Depending on the diner's mood or preferences, the restaurant's gourmet meal is complemented with an ambience that ranges from casual to extravagant.

Pareo Park

#FUN

  • Pareo Park, the largest water park in Southern Italy, contains many swimming pools in addition to more than 15 water rides.
  • The spectacular Naples water parks are only open during the summer, but it also has an amusement park open all year.
  • In addition to a garden and play area for children, the water park charges a small fee for valet parking, safe security boxes, and shower facilities.
  • Some of the location's most recognisable features are the Anaconda water slide, lazy river, family rafting, and an adrenaline tube ride with lights.
  • The water park is filled with food stands and cafes that serve pizza, salad, sandwiches, and burgers.

Ditellandia Water Park

#FUN

  • The reviews for this Naples water park, which is only 30 minutes from Naples, highlight its friendliness and commitment to maintaining a clean and secure environment.
  • The most astounding thing about Ditellandia is that it has a separate water park for animals, especially dogs.
  • The location caters to children and has a toy railway, a carousel, and a small zoo to keep the little ones occupied.
  • The water park's expansive grounds are ideal for picnics and barbecues.
  • The enormous Anaconda water slide, Kamikaze, and a lagoon are the must-ride attractions in this area.
  • The aquapark has hotel options, and the restaurant offers delectable fare and beverages.

Triflisco Aquapark

#FUN

  • Only 20 kilometres separate this tiny water park in Southern Italy from Naples, which is in the lovely subtropical region of Caserta.
  • A resort complex that provides a serene environment away from the hustle and bustle of the city houses this aquapark.
  • The water park is sure to assist some people in fighting the summer heat, and it is an excellent weekend holiday location from Naples.
  • The water slides are the only attraction of the water park.
  • The cost of using this water park in Naples is included in the stay package. Both children and adults are welcome to use the swimming pool.
  • The park cares about its customers, so qualified lifeguards are stationed around the pool area.
