  • Lamezia Terme is a charming and friendly village in sunny southern Italy. In addition, the resort is located in Calabria's administrative region, in the province of Catanzaro, between the Ionian and Tyrrhenian (Mediterranean) seas.
  • If Italy is shaped like a boot, Lamezia Terme is the front section of it. The Amato River and the Apennine Range, in turn, contribute to the city's diverse landscape.
  • Lamezia Terme is famous today for its beautiful natural regions, which include dunes and rocky landscapes, hills and plains, clean sea air perfumed with oranges and rosemary, grand cathedrals and museums, and the ruins of historic mediaeval castles and fortresses.
  • Simultaneously, hot mineral springs are an essential element of this town.
  • Thermal therapies are more successful when performed in a magnificent historical setting with modern civilisation's perks.
  • In other words, individuals can escape the noisy activity of megalopolises, gain health benefits, and relax in the classic Italian ambience of Lamezia Terme. This is an area of Italy that has not yet gained widespread popularity.

  • A day in the southern highlands included visits to the contemporary art park MuSaBa and the Cattolica di Stilo, an extraordinary Byzantine church.
  • Our visit to a husband-and-wife pottery business brought ancient traditions to life as we viewed terracotta being created and the historic graffito technique.

The Best Places to Visit in Lamezia Terme

destination - Seasons to travel

Caminia Beach

  • Escape the city on this small, gorgeous, cliff-surrounded beach, which offers warm, clear seas and picturesque scenery.
  • Despite being one of the best beaches on this stretch of the Italian coast, Caminia Beach is relatively obscure, especially among international tourists who prefer to visit nearby Soverato.
  • Look for this little loop of stunning white-sand shoreline surrounded by steep, craggy cliffs. Caminia Beach is a slightly quieter alternative to Soverato Beach, which is larger and livelier.
  • However, the beach is relatively modest. Arrive early on hot summer days to assure a nice spot because it is popular among locals and Italian holidaymakers.
  • Rent a beach umbrella or lounge chair and settle for a day of relaxation. Take in the breathtaking vistas of the blue-green ocean and the spectacular sheer rocks rising behind the sand.
  • The towering cliffs surrounding the beach provide some protection, resulting in generally calm waves.
  • Though the beach is mainly sandy, pebbles will be encountered as you walk into the ocean. If you intend to wade or swim, consider donning swimming shoes.
destination - Seasons to travel

Pizzo Beach

  • Swim in this beach's clean and clear sea in the shadow of a clifftop castle as you stroll down the lovely pier.
  • Pizzo Beach is the principal sandy strand that stretches along Pizzo's shore. The beach is located in a bay famed for its long pier that provides stunning views of the town and its rocks.
  • Wander down the picturesque Passerella di Pizzo pier, which arcs into the bay.
  • Take note of how the pier's sides are adorned with pebbles, which assist it in blending in with the natural surroundings.
  • Take in the sights of the charming buildings perched above the bay's craggy rocks.
  • The majestic Murat Castle, built in the 1400s, lies on top of the granite formation. Learn about Napoleon's brother-in-law, who was killed here by firing squad for treason, during a tour of this Aragonese structure.
  • Find a peaceful location on the sand near the cliffs and have a picnic. As you sunbathe on a hot summer afternoon, listen to the surge of the waves. Swim in the Tyrrhenian Sea's pristine blue-green water and bring snorkelling gear to see the variety of colourful aquatic species swimming beneath the surface.
