Oland Must-Attend Festivals and Events
- Since its debut year in 1997, the Land Harvest Festival – lands Skördefest – has attracted many visitors and has evolved to become Sweden's most popular harvest festival.
- The celebration celebrates Michaelmas, the end of the growing season when the crop is collected, and the animals are brought inside for the winter.
- There was a Michaelmas feast and Michaelmas marketplace when the newly grown goods were traded.
- The Land Harvest Festival follows this tradition and serves as a showcase for the island's exquisite cuisine, innovative culinary items, and rich culture.
- Orange pumpkins symbolise the Harvest Festival. During the Harvest Festival, pumpkins have become so prevalent on the island that a writer once referred to it as the Kingdom of Pumpkins.
- Approximately 900 activities are available during the festival, from the lighthouse Lnge Erik in the north to the lighthouse Lnge Jan on the island's southern tip.
- Each year, nearly 200,000 people attend these programmes.
- The islanders freely open their doors to the public, inviting them to village celebrations, gastronomic excursions, markets, art exhibitions, and various other activities.
