A Sneak Peek into Varberg
- Varberg was "discovered" in the 1950s by inhabitants of Sweden's more significant, industrialised cities.
- This naturally happened at the same time that more individuals had access to cars.
- The communities along Sweden's southwest coast had previously relied heavily on the fishing and farming industries.
- Still, the tourism industry suddenly took off when more city dwellers began to want to spend their summers on the shore.
- One city that has significantly benefited from this development is Varberg, whereas other communities saw brief periods of prosperity before slipping into a peaceful slumber.
- It is evident in many ways that Varberg is unique from other villages. It can be mainly due to the high amount of entrepreneurship and the municipality's extremely diverse economic sector.
- This includes the extensive industrial production of wood, pulp, and electricity and the innumerable hotels and restaurants that make Varberg one of Sweden's most well-liked year-round seaside destinations.
- Varberg is a hidden gem in many respects, but more and more people are discovering it as a place to call home.
- Gothenburg, Sweden's second-largest city, is only a half-hour distant by car or train, and Landvetter Airport in Varberg has good connections.
- International Airport: Halmstad Airport (HAD)
- Population: 56 673
- Time: UTC +2
- Currency: Swedish Krona
- Driving side: Right
- Main Electricity: 230 V
- Main languages: Swedish
- Religion: Christianity
