Old Market Square
- Several notable tourist attractions may be found in Nottingham's historic city centre. Old Market Square is home to the Nottingham Tourism Centre, the most significant public space in England and an essential first stop before touring the city.
- The Neoclassical Council House, with its magnificent dome, is on the square's east side.
- If you're strolling through the city's historic core, stop by the Nottingham Playhouse to see the incredible Sky Mirror.
- This 19-foot-wide stainless-steel dish, designed by sculptor Anish Kapoor, points upwards and affords a unique view of the sky above.

The Lace Market
- The old Lace Market is just a short walk from the Old Market Square.
- This charming neighbourhood, which was once the heart of Britain's lace industry, is now one of the city's most important heritage zones.
- These ancient red-brick warehouses and showrooms now host a variety of boutiques, restaurants, boutique hotels, and, yes, lace producers.
- In addition to these enjoyable activities, the neighbourhood is home to some of the city's best sightseeing possibilities, including a visit to the National Justice Museum, housed in a former courtroom.

Nottingham Castle
- Nottingham Castle is known for its bronze statues of Robin Hood and his merry men by Nottingham-born sculptor James Woodford, which provide superb views of the town.
- The ancient castle was destroyed by Parliamentary forces in 1651 and replaced by an Italian-style residence belonging to the Duke of Newcastle.
- The Sherwood Foresters Regimental Museum, with its outstanding collection of medals and regimental costumes, and the Nottingham Castle Museum and Art Gallery are housed there today.

The City of Caves
- The sandstone beneath Nottingham is home to some caves, notably the remarkable 322-foot-long Mortimer's Hole just beneath the castle.
- This formation is named after Roger Mortimer, the lover of Queen Isabella, Edward II's wife, and is part of the great City of Caves attraction (legend has it Mortimer once hid here from the jealous king).
- More than 450 caves, the country's biggest known assemblage of caves, lie beneath Nottingham and have been used for storage and defence for years.
- The caves are accessible from Garner's Hill and offer fascinating public tours.
National Justice Museum
- The renowned National Justice Museum is a must-see sight in the Lace Market.
- It's housed in the city's former courthouse and jailhouse, in operation since 1780.
