Pas de la Casa

Arinsal, on Andorra's western border with Spain, is a part of the Vallnord ski area, which also comprises the Pal and Arinsal ski resorts and has about 60 miles of runs between them. There are two different and separate villages. La Massana, which has more stores and restaurants, is busier and has a vibrant nightlife, while Arinsal is more active. The resorts are separated by a bus that runs until 9 p.m. and are 6 miles apart. &nbsp;Arinsal and La Massana cater to families and provide access to some of the most affordable skiing available in Europe. The extreme "Freestyle Area" is perfectly suited for snowboarders. The warm hospitality extended sunny days, and abundance of well-prepared confidence-building lines make it an ideal destination for beginners and intermediates. The Big Snow Festival, which will take place from March 14th to March 21st, promises to be a week-long rollercoaster of snowboarding and skiing, along with top musical performers and upbeat beats. The Big Snow Festival, organised by the same people that put on the wildly popular UK music festival The Big Reunion, features top musical talent from revered promoters like Judge Jules and Kissdafunk. Later this year, the headline artists will be announced. "The Big Ski Festival means scheduling this year's winter holiday just became much, much easier," said Ian Kaye, the event coordinator for the festival. "By bringing together a mix of the biggest DJs, promoters, and live bands and putting them right in the centre of one of Europe's top snow resorts." Arinsal is located in the Pyrenees, sandwiched between France and Spain, and has a connection to Pal, a nearby town.

New Big Snow Festival for Andorra

Another significant wintertime celebration in this region is the carnival. A rúa with a band and comparsas happens in the afternoon, followed by dinners with grilled meats and beverages. The famous event of the celebrations—the fake trial and burning of the Carnestoltes—takes place on Tuesday night, along with a masquerade ball.

Sant Julià de Lòria

The Festa de Sant Antoni, a day dedicated to blessing all animals and pets in the parish, takes place on January 17th. The people of Andorra la Vella meet in the main square at midday to share traditional food, wine, and a regional dessert called El Tortell de Sant Antoni. In Andorra la Vella, Carnival is also a highly respected occasion. On Sunday, a Gran Rúa with carriages from every parish is held, while other locally popular events, including dances, parades, and music bands, are staged on Monday and Tuesday. Every Wednesday at noon, as part of the lengthy custom known as "l'apart de la conòrida"," food is served.

Andorra la Vella and Santa Coloma
